WACO, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team advanced two players and one doubles team to the quarterfinals of the Baylor Intercollegiate Tournament, and another to the consolation quarterfinals. The tournament is being played in Waco, Texas at the Baylor Tennis Center.

In the men's A single rounds, Michael Innerebner was defeated by Zolton Papp of Baylor, 6-0, 6-0, as well as Diederik de Groot, who was defeated by Lester Cook of Texas A&M, 6-3, 6-3.

In the men's A singles consolation bracket, Alfonso Perez was defeated by Jimmy Haney of Texas, 6-2, 6-3, while Devin Wakeford was victorious over Luis Morris 7-6, 6-3 and advanced to the semi finals after his defeat over Dennis Andardi of UTSA, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

In the men's B singles rounds, David Knaszak defeated Pepe Mendoza of TCU, 7-5, 6-3, as well as Ryan Davies was victorious over Juan Escalante from Wichita State, 7-5, 6-4, advancing both men to the semifinals rounds.

In the men's A doubles bracket, Michael Innerebner and John Walker were victorious over Ricardo Almeida and Dennis Andradi of UTSA, 8-5, but were later defeated by Gonzalo Figueiredo and Eric Morin from Texas A&M CC, 8-3. Also competing for Texas Tech in the doubles bracket were Ryan Davies and Alfonso Perez. Davies and Perez defeated Justin Hunter and Bucky Mink of Colorado, 8-2, but were later defeated by Benedikt Dorsch and Matias Marin form Baylor, 8-3. Diederik de Groot and Devin Wakeford defeated David Corrie and Nathan McGregor of UT Arlington, 9-8, and later were victorious over Roger Gubser and Drew Hoskins of Texas 9-8.
