LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's Vitor Manzini advanced to the third round of qualifying at the Intercollegiate All-American Championships held in Tulsa, Okla.

"I'm very pleased with the way Vitor fought his way back into the match," assistant coach Marcello Ferreira. "After being down 5-2 in the first set he was able to make adjustments and play smart against an opponent that was putting a lot of pressure at all times."

Manzini took down Big 12 foe and No. 87 ranked Niall Angus of Texas A&M, 7-6, 7-5 to win his second-straight match of the tournament. He will now advance to the third round of the qualifying bracket.

A win in the third round will advance Manzini to the main draw at the ITA All-American Championships.
