Red Raiders Sweep First Day Of Competition In Austin|

AUSTIN, Texas - Texas Tech powered through the field on Friday, as the Red Raiders went a perfect 10-0 on the day at the UT Fall Invitational at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center.
Second seeded Hugo Dojas picked up a pair of straight set wins over Nick Dykema of Marquette, 6-3, 7-6, and Austin Smith of Ball State, 6-3, 6-3, to cruise into the quarterfinals of the Flight A draw on Friday. Teammate Maxime Hinnisdaels was close behind with wins over Air Force's Stephen Young, 6-2, 6-2, and Laredo's Arturo Pinazo, 6-1, 6-4, to also advance to the Flight A quarterfinals.
In Flight B, Andre Napolitano topped Ball State's Pat Downs, 6-1, 7-6 and then cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 win over Air Force's Andrew Parks to land a spot in the quarters. Jolan Cailleau downed Matt Helm of Ball State, 6-1, 6-4 and then took a three-set victory from TCU's Hudson Blake, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, to punch his ticket to the quarterfinals.
In doubles action, the two teams advanced to the Round of 16 with victories on Friday. Cailleau and Napolitano topped Gleb Skylr and Matt Helm of Marquette, 8-3, while Dojas and Hinnisdaels outlasted TCU's Hudson Blake and Blake Winston, 8-6.
Texas Tech will return to action on Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
