LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech men's tennis players Raony Carvalho and Christian Rojmar were edged in the first round of the ITA National Indoor Championships Thursday at the University of Virginia.

After falling behind 5-2 midway through the match, Carvalho and Rojmar would split the next six games, falling 8-5 to the team of Austen Childs and Simon Childs of Louisville.

Carvalho and Rojmar will begin play in the doubles consolation bracket Friday morning. Each duo is guaranteed at least three matches in the tournament.
