LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head men's tennis coach Tim Siegel has announced the dismissal of freshman Diederik de Groot from the men's tennis team.

The Haarlem, Netherlands, native was dismissed from the team due to his work ethic and violation of team rules.

"This is a very difficult thing for me to do especially since we have been playing so well and our chances of making the NCAA Tournament," said head coach Tim Siegel. "Our players are playing so hard together, but Diederik violated team rules and his work ethic on the court was not up to my standards."

The Red Raiders will return to action on Friday, April 4 at Texas A&M and Saturday, April 5 at Texas.
