No Movement for No. 15 Lady Raiders, Red Raiders Drop To No. 46|

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders held onto the No. 15 position and the Red Raiders dropped two spots in this week’s Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Top 75 Poll released Tuesday.
The Lady Raiders (17-4, 7-0 Big 12) won a pair of road matches last week to stay atop of the Big 12 standings and keep its position at No. 15 in the ITA Rankings. The Lady Raiders are riding an eight-match winning streak heading into the final weekend of the season. Texas Tech travels to Forth Worth on Friday to face No. 25 TCU at 2 p.m. before returning home on Sunday to host No. 28 Baylor at 1 p.m. at the McLeod Tennis Center in the season finale.
The Red Raiders (15-8, 1-2 Big 12) split a pair of matches last week and slipped from No. 44 to No. 46 in this week’s poll. Texas Tech will close out the season with a pair of road matches against No. 37 TCU on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in Fort Worth, before closing out the season in Austin on Sunday at 1 p.m. against No. 19 Texas.
Individually for the Lady Raiders, Samantha Adams jumped one spot from No. 94 to No. 93 in the singles rankings, while the duo of Adams and Kenna Kilgo dropped two spots after being upset at Kansas State over the weekend.
For the Red Raiders, freshman Felipe Soares made his first-ever appearance in the rankings, coming in at No. 122. Soares is 14-6 on the season and has climbed from No. 6 to No. 2 on the team ladder. He upset Oklahoma’s No. 38 Guillermo Alcorta in straight sets on Sunday.
