Texas Tech Men's Tennis Plays Tyler JC in Practice Match April 22, 1999 LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team will continue their preparation for the Big 12 tennis tournament when they play a practice match against Tyler Junior College on Friday, April 23, at 2 p.m. at the recreation center courts on the Texas Tech University campus. Texas Tech finished the season with a 14-8 overall and 4-4 conference record. With a win over Kansas on April 18, the team tied the record for the number of wins during the Tim Siegel's head coaching tenure with 14. The men will open first round play in the Big 12 tournament on April 29. The tourney is scheduled to run from April 29-May 2 in College Station, Texas. "Tyler is one of the top junior college teams in the nation," Director of Tennis Tim Siegel said. "The match will be a good challenge for our team in helping to prepare for Big 12."
The recreation center courts are located at the recreation field
behind the university pool and recreation center building.
