Lady Raiders Fall To No. 17, Red Raiders Now No. 50

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team dropped two spots from No. 15 to No. 17, while the Texas Tech men's team fell in the Intercollegiate Tennis Associate Top 75 Poll for the fourth consecutive week.
The Lady Raiders (18-5), who had reached a school-record position at No. 15 and held it for three straight weeks, fell two spots after losing to Baylor 4-3 on Sunday. The loss snapped a nine-match winning streak for the Lady Raiders and gave Baylor a share of the Big 12 regular season title with Texas Tech. It also moved the Bears from No. 28 to No. 19 in this week's poll. The Lady Raiders have spent 39 consecutive matches ranked in the ITA Top 25.
The Red Raiders (15-10) fell four more spots to No. 50 after losing twice last week to No. 37 TCU and No. 19 Texas. It is the lowest Texas Tech has been ranked since being ranked No. 60 on March 5. The Red Raiders have been continuously ranked in the ITA Top 75 since March 14, 2002. That is a period of more than 11 consecutive years.
Individually, Samantha Adams climbed from No. 93 to No. 78 in this week's ITA Top 125 singles rankings. It is the highest ranking in Adams' three-year career on the South Plains.
Adams and Kilgo are 21-8 this season and are currently 7-8 against nationally-ranked doubles tandems. They are looking to make their second straight trip to the NCAA Individual Championships after qualifying last season.
Dynka and Hine are 4-1 on the season, but have not competed since September. The duo is 201 against ranked opponents.
