April 24, 1999

LUBBOCK, Texas - Borut Martincevic (Maribor, Slovenia) and Dustin Hawk (Clyde, Texas) have been named first team all-Big 12 academic it was announced today. Both student-athletes had above a 3.0 grade point average for the fall 1998 semester.

"I am very proud of their work in the classroom," Director of Tennis Tim Siegel said. "Both have meant a lot to the success we've had this season. It is great to see them represent Texas Tech in this way."

The Red Raiders will open play against Nebraska at the Big 12 tournament that runs from April 29 - May 2 in College Station, Texas. At 15-8, the team is enjoying their best season ever under Siegel's leadership.
