LUBBOCK, Texas - Borut Martincevic (Maribor, Slovenia) was named to all-Big 12 conference individual team as selected by the the conference's coaches the Big 12 announced today. The sophomore had a 12-9 for the 1999 spring season while playing all but one match from the No. 1 position. He had three wins against some of the nation's top players including 47th ranked Luis Uribe of Kansas, 51st ranked Cory Guy of California-Santa Barabara and 59th ranked Paul Martin of Texas.

In the latest intercollegiate tennis association poll, Martincevic was ranked 91st in the nation. It is the first time he has appeared in the poll this season.

"Borut has been a great player for us all season," Director of Tennis Tim Siegel said. "Playing at the top spot in the Big 12, is quite difficult. He has had some great wins for us and really made a difference in helping us make our fourth straight NCAA tournament appearance."

The Texas Tech men's tennis team (15-9) will play in the first round of the NCAA tournament against Texas A&M on May 14 in Austin, Texas.
