Carvalho, Rojmar Head to NCAA Championships|

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech men's tennis players Raony Carvalho and Christian Rojmar are set to begin play in the singles and doubles portions of the 2009 NCAA Championships in College Station, Texas, with Carvalho in singles Wednesday and doubles starting Thursday.
Carvalho, a freshman from Brazil, is one of 48 players selected for the singles portion of the tournament as he is currently ranked No. 41 in the nation and has already been named Big 12 Freshman of the Year and ITA Rookie Player of the Year for the south central region. He was also an All-Big 12 selection in both singles and doubles.
Rojmar will be making his third-consecutive appearance in the doubles bracket as the senior previously teamed with former Red Raider standout Bojan Szumanski. Rojmar was selected to the All-Big 12 doubles team for the third time in his career following the conference tournament.
Carvalho went 14-9 this spring in singles dual matches playing primarily the top position, while he and Rojmar combined to go 14-8 in duals and are currently the 15th-ranked tandem in the nation. The duo is 13-6 against ranked opponents this season.
Match times will be released Tuesday upon the completion of the team championship match between No. 8 USC and No. 3 Ohio State. The NCAA Championships are being held at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center on the campus of Texas A&M University.
