LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Athletics Department announced today that the McLeod Tennis Center will serve as host to the 2003 Cingular USTA Men's $15,000 Pro Tournament of Lubbock that runs Oct. 10-19.

Lubbock has once again been chosen by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) as a host site for the Men's $15,000 Futures Tournament. This outstanding event is scheduled for October 10-19, 2003 at the McLeod Tennis Center on the campus of Texas Tech University.
This USTA Professional Circuit event attracts up-an-coming stars in men's tennis. These players are professional athletes working their way up the ATP ladder, and the quality of play is just a notch below what spectators would see at Grand Slam tournaments. Two years ago, Martin Verkerk last in the first round in our Futures event. This year he made the finals of the French Open.
