LUBBOCK, Texas - Senior Christian Rojmar and freshman Gonzalo Escobar lead the group of four Texas Tech men's tennis players to be ranked in the recently release Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) preseason poll as the duo was selected as the No. 19 doubles team in the nation.

Tech's other doubles duo of senior Sinisa Markovic and freshman Raony Carvalho was ranked as the No. 48 team. Markovic was also ranked No. 63 in singles, nearly 60 slots higher than his 2008 final ranking on 112th.

"I'm looking forward to Sinisa's senior year," Tech head coach Tim Siegel said. "I think he's going to have a tremendous year and to me, he's one of the top 20 players in the country. I'm also excited that two of our freshmen are already in the rankings. They are arguably two of the greatest freshman recruits we have ever had here, and I'm excited to see how they do."

Tech will once against host the Lubbock Challenger event at the McLeod Tennis Center, beginning Sept. 20-28, while the Red Raiders will travel to Waco, Texas, for the Baylor Invitational Sept. 26-28.
