LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team will be sending four players to compete in the ITA All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla., Oct. 6-12.

The second tournament of the year for the Red Raiders will feature seniors Sinisa Markovic and Christian Rojmar and freshmen Raony Carvalho and Gonzalo Escobar. It is the first tournament of the fall for Markovic, while the other three competed in the HEB Baylor Invitational in September. At Baylor, Rojmar finished 2-2, while Escobar was 2-1 and Carvalho was 1-1 in singles. In doubles play, Carvalho and Rojmar teamed up to go 2-1, while Escobar went 0-1 with sophomore David Gonzalez.

All four Tech players will compete in the qualifying of singles, which starts on Mon., Oct. 6. Each player will have to win three matches in order to advance to the main draw of the singles portion of the tournament, which starts on Thurs., Oct. 9.

Escobar and Markovic will play in the qualifying of doubles, which starts on Tues., Oct. 5. The duo will have to win two matches to qualify for the doubles main draw. Carvalho and Rojmar will play in the main draw of the doubles bracket, which starts on Thurs., Oct. 9.

The qualifying of singles consists of 128 players, while the main draw will be 64 student-athletes. In the doubles portion of the championships, there will be 64 duos in the qualifying and 32 in the main draw.
