Katie Munger began her career as a member of the strength and conditioning staff at Texas Tech University in 2005. Now the Associate Director of Strength & Conditioning for Olympic Sports, she is responsible for training the Soccer, Volleyball and Tennis teams, as well as assisting with other Olympic sports.
Before arriving at Texas Tech, Katie served as the assistant women's basketball coach for Lubbock Christian University where her duties included developing the strength and conditioning program for the team.
She graduated from William Jewell College in Missouri in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and received her Master's of Education at Lubbock Christian University in 2004.
As a collegiate athlete, Katie played basketball for William Jewell College and received numerous awards including two All-American Honors, three all-conference nods, and three awards as a scholar-athlete. She is a certified Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach (SCCC), is Functional Movement Screen (FMS) certified and also has earned a Sports Performance Nutritionist Certification.
Munger is married to Tech athletic trainer Larry Munger and the couple have two daughters, Peyton and Ellie. In her spare time Katie enjoys being outdoors, cycling, working out, and hanging with her girls.
