May 9, 2011
LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech fans that did not purchase football season tickets last season or who still need to renew their season packages can do so through the athletics tickets office beginning on Tuesday, May 10.
The 2010 season, the first under head coach Tommy Tuberville, was a record-breaking year in season ticket sales as 46,565 season packages were sold, surpassing the previous record of 41,740 set back in 2008. The 2010 Red Raiders ended the season with an 8-5 overall record and a victory over Northwestern in the inaugural Ticket City Bowl on Jan. 1.
"There is no greater advantage for our entire athletics program than to sell out Jones AT&T Stadium," said director of athletics Kirby Hocutt. "Coach Tuberville has brought a tremendous level of excitement to our football program and as evidenced by the nation's recruiting class ranked No. 15, our future will be successful. I would encourage everyone to purchase football season tickets and come be a part of something special."
A total of six home games are on tap for the 2011 season, including the home opener against Texas State on Sept. 3. The remaining home schedule includes Nevada, Texas A&M, Kansas State, Iowa State and Oklahoma State. Dates for all games during the 2011 season are subject to change based on network television selections.
Beginning at midnight on Tuesday, fans can log on to texastech.com to purchase season tickets. Orders can be made in person or by phone beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the athletics ticket office. The athletics tickets office is located in the south end of Jones AT&T Stadium and can be reached by dialing 806-742-TECH or 888-GOBIG12.
