No. 14 Texas Tech Cruises by Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. -- Alicia Thompson scored 21 and Rene Hanebutt added 17 as No. 14 Texas Tech knocked off Oklahoma, 63-49, in women's basketball action.

The Red Raider defense held the Sooners to just 29 percent shooting from the floor, and permitted just two Oklahoma players to reach double figures.

Crystal Boles also added 11 and had five rebounds. Hanebutt had a team-high 11 boards, and Thompson grabbed seven in the win.

Phylesha Whaley led the Sooners with 14 and Michele Workman had 12 points.

Texas Tech returns to the hardwood Saturday at Texas.
