Matt Corkery enters his third season as the associate head coach for Texas Tech women's basketball.
Main responsibilities include recruiting, defense, guard play, scheduling and scouting.
Was instrumental in the development and growth of Tech's guards, including All-Big 12 selection Amber Battle, who led the team in scoring for the first time in 2013-14. Battle only improved under Corkery's tutelage during the 2014-15 season, becoming the 31st Lady Raider in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point scoring mark. Corkery was also a key cog in the process of bringing in not only the talented crop of transfers waiting to take the Big 12 by storm in 2016-17, but also the two freshmen ranked in ESPN's top 110 coming out of high school who are looking to contribute right away during the 2015-16 season.

Coached a Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, two-time Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year, two Patriot League Players of the Year, four Patriot League All-Rookie Team honorees, eight All-Patriot League selections, and 23 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll picks.
Became the second-fastest coach in Patriot League history and fastest in American program history to reach 100 career wins.
In 2011-12, American recorded the first-ever 14-0 Patriot League regular season. Their 23-8 overall record matched a program record for most wins in a single season.

Served as an assistant coach at Stephen F. Austin University from 1999-2001. During his tenure, the Ladyjacks won consecutive Southland Conference titles and made successive appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

In 1995-96 he was an assistant at West Texas A&M after two seasons as a student assistant and grad assistant.
Corkery mentored a Buffs squad that went 28-3, won the Lone Star Conference title and was ranked as high as No. 4 in the NCAA Division II national rankings.
Earned a Bachelor's degree in education in 1993 and a Master's of sports and exercise sciences in 1996 from West Texas A&M University.
"I feel fortunate to bring Matt Corkery to the Lady Raider program. His head coaching experience is invaluable and he has been successful at every stop in his career. Matt is a tremendous recruiter and will be an asset in all facets of the program. His West Texas ties & knowledge of the program's tradition make him the perfect fit."
