LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Aleah Johnson scored 20 points Thursday night and No. 9 Texas Tech beat Texas 73-44 in the Big 12 Conference.

Johnson went to the bench in foul trouble with 5:16 left in the half, but by that time Texas Tech (17-2 overall, 6-2 Big 12) was ahead 40-16. Texas (14-7, 6-2) was unable to take advantage, as both teams were scoreless over the last five minutes of the half.

Texas got no closer than 18 points in the second half.

Edwina Brown, with 18 points, was the only Texas player in double figures.

Plenette Pierson contributed 15 points and Keitha Dickerson had 10 points and 14 rebounds for Tech. Guard Melinda Pharies added 13 points, including three 3-pointers.
