LARAMIE, Wyo. - The Texas Tech women's basketball team's season came to an end as the Lady Raiders fell to Wyoming, 68-57, in overtime on Tuesday night at Arena Auditorium in the second round of the Postseason Women's NIT.

The first half was a close one as Wyoming (21-11) led the entire half until the last 1:41 remaining when Texas Tech (18-15) got its first lead of the period on a three-pointer by Christine Hyde to go up 24-21. Tech hung onto that lead going into the locker room at the break. The Cowgirls led by no more than seven points in the first half on two occasions, with the last coming at the 12:42 mark when Hillary Carlson converted on a three-point play.

Tech scored the opening basket of the second half as Chynna Brown made a layup in the first minute of play to give the Lady Raiders a five-point lead. Wyoming responded by scoring the six-straight points to take back the lead at 27-26 with 17:34 to go. The lead changed four times over the next three and half minutes. The Cowgirls controlled the game from the 14-minute mark until Tech knotted it up at 42-42 on a layup by Tilmila Martin with 7:59 to go in regulation. Tech led until 1:21 left on the clock when Wyoming's Aubrey Vandiver hit one of two free throw attempts to tie the score at 52-52. Emma Langford hit a layup for the Cowgirls with 15 seconds left and then Brown made one for Tech with eight seconds to go to send the game into overtime.

The overtime period belonged to the Cowgirls as they outscored Tech 14-3. The Lady Raiders went to the line at the 4:32 mark as Ashlee Roberson hit one of two shots from the charity stripe to give Tech a 55-54 lead, its only advantage in the overtime period. The rest of the game was Wyoming's as Tech hit just one field goal, a jumper by Roberson with 2:51 to go to cut the lead to one. The Cowgirls held Tech scoreless the remainder of the contest, while hitting a jumper, two free throws, a three-pointer and another three free throws to claim the 11-point victory.

Brown led Tech with 12 points and Kierra Mallard added 10 points and seven rebounds. Monique Smalls collected seven assists and five steals and did not commit a turnover.

Wyoming was led by Langford with 29 points. Vandiver finished with a double-double as she had 12 points and 12 rebounds.

The Cowgirls shot 37.5 percent (21-56) from the field, while Tech was at 36.2 percent (25-69). Wyoming hit 19-of-25 free throws to Tech's 3-of-8.

Wyoming outrebounded the Lady Raiders 44-40.
