LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Dominic Seals scored 17 points and had a season-high 15 rebounds as Texas Tech beat Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne 72-51 Tuesday in the Lady Raiders home opener.

The double-double was Seals' third straight.

Tech never trailed in the game, which was tied only twice early in the first half. The Lady Raiders opened the season 3-0 for the second straight year.

The Mastodons (0-1) got as close as nine points midway through the second half, 52-43. But the Lady Raiders finished the game on a 20-8 run.

Erin Myrick scored 12 for Tech. Jordan Murphree added 11.

Johnna Lewis-Carlisle lead IPFW with 16 points.

The teams combined to miss 14 of the first 17 shots to start the game before Tech went on a 17-4 run.

The Mastodons failed to make a basket for almost eight minutes in the first half, while Tech built a 14-point lead.

Tech led 35-26 at halftime.

The win was No. 197 for head coach Kristi Curry, as she nears the 200-mark in her ninth season as a head coach and second season at Tech.
