Lady Raiders Dominate Sweden 127-47|

The Texas Tech Lady Raiders dominated Uppsala, Sweden, winning 127-47 in its second of two preseason exhibition games.
Aleah Johnson led six Lady Raiders in double figures, scoring 22 points. Melinda Schmucker played a well-rounded game scoring 11 points, dishing out 4 assists, collecting 4 steals and grabbing three rebounds.
Defense was the emphasis for Texas Tech early in the game. The Lady Raiders held Uppsala scoreless for the first 4:35 of the game and allowed only eight points in the first half while estblishing a 53-8 halftime lead.
"I'm pretty pleased with the way we played again tonight," Texas Tech Coach Marsha Sharp said. "We got off to a little bit of a slow start offensively. That happens sometimes and that's when defense and rebounding are important."
In its two exhibition games, Sharp's team has scored 258 points while holding its opponents to 123.
Texas Tech opens the regular season on Sunday versus University of Texas-Arlington at 2 p.m. The team will host Hampton University next Tuesday before going on the road for a three consecutive games against Old Dominion, SMU and Stanford.
