LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech moved to 3-0 in season-opening games in the Kristy Curry era as the Lady Raiders were victorious over Idaho, 90-55. Maddy Brown had the hot hand for Tech scoring a game-high 18 points.

In their first game of the year, the Lady Raiders (1-0) opened the game on an 8-0 run and never looked back. The closest the Vandals (0-1) would get was three points in the early minutes of the game.

Tech got its first double-digit lead at 29-19 on a free throw by Dominic Seals. Its biggest lead of the half was 20 on a three-pointer by Jordan Murphree with three seconds to go in the first period. The Lady Raiders led 45-27 at the half. Seals had 12 of her 14 points in the first half as Tech shot 54.8 percent from the field.

The Lady Raiders opened the second period on a jumper by Seals to go up by 20 again. The largest lead of the night, 38 points, came with 56 seconds to go in the game on a pair of free throws by Kierra Mallard, and again with 19 second left on a jumper by Mallard.

Along with Brown, who tied a career-high five three-pointers, and Seals, Tech had three others score in double figures as Mallard and Jordan Barncastle had 16 and 13 points, respectively in their debut, and Murphree also chipped in 13. Barncastle and Mallard just missed a double-double as both had a team-high eight rebounds. Maria Moored dished out seven assists in the win.

Tech connected on 33-of-62 shot attempts for a 53.2 shooting percentage to Idaho's 34.9 percent (22-of-63). The Lady Raiders outrebounded the Vandals 43-33.

Tech only committed nine rebounds on the night.

Yinka Olorunnife and Derisa Taleni both scored 12 points for Idaho.
