LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Twiggy McIntyre scored a game-high 17 points, 12 of them on 3-pointers, as Houston defeated Texas Tech 66-63 Tuesday night for its first victory on the road since February 2006.

Houston (3-6) had lost 16 straight games on the road and 16 straight to Texas Tech. The loss was Texas Tech's first of the season.

Jordan Murphree scored 14 to lead the Lady Raiders (9-1), who had won all of their games by at least 10 points.

Houston built a 7-point lead midway through the second half by scoring 10 straight, including a pair of 3-pointers by McIntyre.

But Tech came back to take the lead 58-55 on a 3-pointer by Raquel Christian, who scored eight of her 11 points in the second half.

Houston finished the game on an 11-5 run, including five from Courtney Taylor. She blocked a shot by Murphree and then drove the court and scored on a layup to give the Cougars a 4-point lead with less than a minute to play.

Taylor had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Dominic Seals had a double-double for Tech with 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.

It looked like Tech was on its way to another blowout win early. Houston shot just 15 percent from the field through the first 10 minutes of the game, as the Lady Raiders built a 17-4 lead.

But the Cougars found their touch, outscoring Texas Tech 23-7 during the next seven minutes. The Lady Raiders went five minutes without a field goal late in the half. Houston took the lead of a three-point play by McIntyre and led 31-28 at the half. The lead changed hands 10 times in the second half.
