Texas Tech Head Coach Kristy Curry
On the difference in the first half to the second half
"I think the difference in the first half compared to the second half was just a lot of little things. I thought we came out execution wise and reversed the ball and made the extra pass, our shot selection we did a great job with the first half and we were able to finish it with a make and there's a correlation there with the flow of your offense, and I thought the first half we obviously executed better than the second half, but I'm still really pleased with our execution, it's something we've really been working on the last 10 days."
On the physical play during the second half
"I think that's unfortunate, I think the most important thing with me is just the well-being of the kids on the floor. That's pretty much all I can say about that. I was pleased with our kids' poise and class and how they handled it."
On playing Michigan State next
"Just like I told them this is exactly what we need right now in the season to grow and to stay together, Michigan State will be the by far the best team we've played all season and Oregon State's really good too, I know they've struggled some too but their size is unbelievable. It's going to be a great test for us with a couple of contrasting styles and we are excited about the opportunity."
Senior Casey Morris
On making shots in the first half
"We've just been working on it in practice and coming in extra to get extra shots and we are confident, they keep telling us to stay confident with our shot and it will come to us and we just keep on shooting and staying positive."
On Tech's defense helping their offense
"I think defense is always most important, so even if shots are going in then I think you just need to learn from the situations and experiences from earlier in the season so later on when we play in the Big 12 we known you need defense to make offense and that defense is the most important thing."
Senior Christine Hyde
On driving to the basket and then kicking the ball out to the guards
"It was good to drive and fake and know that you have shooters set and it the stats say it all, Casey was five-for-nine and with a shooter like that why not kick it out."
On the offensive struggles in the second half
"I think that's what we've been doing all season is just buckling down on defense and it will flow into our offense, and even if we don't get that consistent flow on offense, it's our defense that really helps us out in the end."
