Texas Tech Makes First Trek To West Virginia
Jan. 21, 2013
LUBBOCK, Texas -- Texas Tech will look for its third consecutive Big 12 Conference win and third Big 12 road win this season when the Lady Raiders take on West Virginia for the first time in school history at 6 p.m. CT Tuesday at WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, W. Va.
Tech (14-4, 4-2 Big 12) is off to its best six-game start in Big 12 play in seven seasons under head coach Kristy Curry after winning back-to-back conference games last week at Texas (66-59) and against No. 23/21 Kansas (70-63) on Saturday night.
The Lady Raiders led throughout nearly both games this past week with senior guard Chynna Brown turning in consecutive 20-point games for the first time in her career while scoring in double digits for the sixth time in seven games.
West Virginia (11-6, 3-3) is coming off a loss to No. 1 Baylor after winning three straight against Texas, Kansas State and TCU.
Texas Tech has been one of the most successful road teams in Big 12 Conference play this season, winning twice, including a 64-59 win at No. 13/12 Oklahoma State. A third road win would match the best season total for conference road wins for any Tech team in the last seven years.
