LUBBOCK, Texas - Former Texas Tech standout Sheryl Swoopes has been chosen to take part in the 2001 NBA All-Star weekend Feb. 9-11 and will not be able to attend the Lady Raider game against Texas Feb. 10 as originally scheduled.

Swoopes was originally planning on returning to Lubbock for the game and for the alumni reunion planned for that day. Now Swoopes, who plays for the Houston Comets, will be teamed up with the Houston Rockets' Cuttino Mobley to compete in the America Online 2ball event at the NBA All-Star Saturday Night at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C.
