Feb. 12, 2013
LUBBOCK, Texas — The Big 12 Conference announced 35 honorees were named to the 2013 Academic All-Big 12 Women’s Basketball First and Second Teams on Tuesday, including three Lady Raiders.
Bokenkamp, a senior majoring in biology, was one of only six players around the league to be named a three-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team member.
“Being named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team is an accomplishment I’m very proud of,” Bokenkamp said. “It’s been a goal of mine to be a part of this group every year I was eligible for it. It’s an honor to have my name by other great Big 12 players. I’m grateful I am able to represent Texas Tech no only on the court, but also in the classroom.”
Morris graduated in August with a degree in Mass Communications and is currently working on her master’s degree at Tech. She’s played in all 24 games and currently leads the Lady Raiders in scoring at 12.3 points per game. Morris scored her 1,000th career point on Jan. 5 vs Iowa State.
Nobles earned her third selection on the Academic All-Big 12 Second Team and also graduated in August with a degree in business and is now working on her MBA. She missed the first six games due to an illness but has resurfaced as one of Tech’s primary post players in Conference play, averaging four rebounds per game.
