LUBBOCK, Texas -- Texas Tech women's basketball will be the No. 10 seed in the Big 12 Conference Championship when the tournament begins Friday and will take on the seventh-seeded TCU Horned Frogs at 8:30 p.m., as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

The tournament returns to Oklahoma City for the first time since 2009 and will be played at Chesapeake Energy Arena - home of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Baylor received the No. 1 seed after sharing the conference title with No. 2 West Virginia. The Lady Bears claimed their fourth consecutive and fifth overall Conference title while the Mountaineers earned their first Big 12 women's basketball championship in their second year of league membership. This marks the first year co-champions were honored since 2007.

Tech (6-23) is looking for their first win in the tournament since knocking out Texas in the first round of the 2012 tournament. The Lady Raiders have an all-time record of 15-15 in the tournament and 4-4 in the first round.

TCU (17-13) lost its first Big 12 tournament game last season. The Horned Frogs won both matchups with the Lady Raiders this season.

The event will be held Friday-Monday, March 7-10. Single-session tickets are on sale for $25 and $20 plus fees, for reserved seats. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster by calling 1-800-745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. They can also be purchased at the Chesapeake Energy Arena box office.
