LAST TIME OUT -- TEXAS TECH 64, KANSAS STATE 63

MANHATTAN, Kan. --- Shauntal Nobles scored a career-high 16 points and led three Lady Raiders in double figures as Texas Tech played spoiler on senior day at Kansas State, beating the Wildcats, 64-63 on Saturday at Bramlage Coliseum.

It was the second consecutive game that was decided by just one point. Kansas State won, 62-61, in Lubbock on Jan. 14.

Kansas State (18-12, 9-9 Big 12) jumped out in front quickly after a back-and-forth start, building up a33-16 lead with 6:58 to play in the first half. Then the tables turned for good thanks to Nobles, junior guard Monique Smalls and senior forward Kierra Mallard, who helped lead Tech (18-12, 6-12) go on a 40-11 run over the next 18 minutes and build a 56-44 lead - its largest of the game.

The Lady Raiders were 14 of 22 (63.6 percent) from the field during that span. Mallard and Smalls each finished with 15 points. Smalls tied a career-high in points for the third time this season - all coming during wins (Dec. 3 vs Penn State; Jan. 28 vs Texas).

Tech hit 28 field goals - its highest in Big 12 Conference play and most since hitting 29 against CSU Bakersfield on Dec. 29. Tech finished the regular season with at least 18 wins for the second consecutive season under Curry.

HYDE OUT

The Texas Tech women's basketball program announced on Friday that junior guard Christine Hyde hadsuccessful arthroscopic surgery on her left knee Friday morning and is likely to miss the remainder of the season to recover. The junior from Ontario, Canada was averaging 7.9 points and 3.7 rebounds per game while shooting 41.7 percent from the field.

LEADING THE WAY

Texas Tech junior guard Casey Morris led the team with 19 points and had three, 3-pointers in the loss toOklahoma on Feb. 29. She had 15 points on 6 of 13 shooting against Texas A&M and added three steals. That's the 13th and 14th time this season that Morris has scored in double figures and fifth and sixth time she has scored 15 points or more. She's led the team in scoring five times this season - including 4 of the last 8.

NO SMALL FEAT

Texas Tech junior guard Monique Smalls now has 126 assists and just 50 turnovers for a 2.5 assist-to-turnover ratio, leading all Big 12 Conference players. She also had six steals, giving her a team-leading 84 on the year.

Sophomore forward Shauntal Nobles scored a career-high 16 points in the win over Kansas State on Saturday. That's the ninth time Nobles has scored in double figures this season. She beat her previous high of 14 points scored in the win over San Diego on Dec. 30,2011.

RUNNING AWAY

Texas Tech trailed KansasState 33-16 with 6:53 remaining in the first half before going on a run that shifted the game for good. The Lady Raiders went on a 40-11 run over the next 18 minutes into the second half to take 56-44 lead - Tech's largest of the game.
