LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech will host first and second round games in the 2000 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament, according to an announcement by the NCAA Sunday.

Games will be played at the new United Spirit Arena on the Texas Tech campus. First round games are scheduled for Saturday, March 18, with times still to be determined.

Texas Tech will host Tennessee Tech, while Vermont and Tulane round out Saturday action. Monday's second-round game is set for 8:05 p.m., matching the winners of Saturday's games. Monday's winner will advance to the Mideast Regional Round of 16 at The Pyramid in Memphis.

The third-seeded Lady Raiders come into NCAA play with a 25-4 record and a share of the Big 12 Conference regular season title. Tennessee Tech is 24-8, Tulane 26-4 and Vermont 25-5. Tulane comes in as Conference USA champions, Tennessee Tech as champions of the Ohio Valley Conference and Vermont as champs of the America East Conference.
