LUBBOCK, Texas - After a five-year absence the Texas Tech women's basketball team is returning to the NCAA Women's Championship as the Lady Raiders will make their 19th appearance in the tournament. The NCAA Women's Basketball Selection Committee announced the field of 64 teams Monday evening.

The Lady Raiders will open the 2011 NCAA Women's Championship as the No. 8 seed in the Spokane Region when they face No. 9 seed St. John's in Stanford, Calif., at Maples Pavilion on Sat., March 19, at 3 p.m. CDT on ESPN2. The other first round game in Stanford, Calif., is No. 1 seed Stanford versus No. 16 seed UC Davis at 5:30 p.m. CDT.

The winners of Saturday's games will advance to the second round and play on Mon., March 21, at 8:30 p.m. CDT

Single session tickets will go on sale at TexasTech.com on Monday night (March 14). Tickets will also be available by phone at (806) 742-TECH. Single session tickets are $30 each and will be in Texas Tech's allotment. All orders will be ranked according to the Red Raider Club priority point system. Single session tickets will include both games on Saturday (March 19).

If the Lady Raiders advance to the second round, all customers who purchased tickets for the first round will have their credit cards automatically charged for second round tickets. If Tech advances, customers will be charged the package price of $50, which includes both sessions (March 19 and March 21).

All orders will be charged a $6 handling fee and tickets may be picked up at Will-Call at Maples Pavilion. Tickets will not be mailed.

All session tickets may be purchased through Stanford at www.stanford.com or by calling 1-800-Stanford. Upper level reserved bench seating or general admission is all that is still available. All session tickets include all three games.
