LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech women's basketball player freshman Krystal Cole has announced she is transferring to Tarleton State University beginning in the fall of 2006.

"We wish Krystal the best of luck," said Marsha Sharp, who announced her resignation as head coach on Feb. 24. "We understand her desire to get back to home. It (Tarleton) is a great choice for her."

Cole, a 5-10 guard from Brock, Texas, appeared in two games this season for the Lady Raiders. She averaged 2.0 points and 1.5 rebounds in her two games.

"I'm leaving Texas Tech to pursue other opportunities that are closer to home and to my family," said Cole.
