Lady Raiders Hold Annual Banquet|

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's basketball team held its annual end of the year banquet tonight at the United Spirit Arena with 1,200 people in attendance.
The evening began with dinner followed by season highlights from head coach Marsha Sharp and the presentation of the annual awards. Senior guard Melinda Schmucker-Pharies received the Fighting Heart Award, while the whole team was honored as the Most Valuable Players for the 1999-2000 season, as this year's accomplishments were a team effort. The banquet concluded with a highlight video of the season.
The Lady Raiders finished the year with an overall record of 28-5, while capturing a share of their third straight Big 12 Conference title with a 13-3 record. Texas Tech finished the season ranked seventh in the final USA Today/ESPN top 25 poll on April 3 and 11th in the final Associated Press top 25 poll on March 13. The Lady Raiders made their 13th NCAA Tournament appearance, including their first Elite Eight appearance since 1995.
