LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head women's basketball coach Kristy Curry has announced the signing of junior college standout Tilmila Martin (Blinn College) to a National Letter of Intent to attend Texas Tech in the fall of 2008.

Martin, a 5-6 point guard, played one year at Kilgore College (2005-06) and was named all-conference, before transferring to Blinn College to play the 2007-08 season. While at Blinn, Martin averaged 15.7 points and 4.1 assists and was named Most Valuable Player of Region XIV Athletic Conference. Martin, who hails from Bryan, Texas, led the Lady Buccaneers to a 26-6 record, marking the most wins in a season for Blinn College. She was recently named third team All-America by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

"We are very excited to have Tilmila join our Lady Raider family," said Curry. "Blinn College had a tremendous season and she did a great job leading her team. We know that she will bring the same competitive spirit and desire to be the best to our program."

Martin joins incoming freshmen Jordan Barncastle (Ben Wheeler, Texas/Martins Mill), Lindie Kimbro (Kyle, Texas/Jack G. Hays) and Kierra Mallard (Frisco, Texas/Frisco), who all signed during the November signing period.
