GAME DAY!!!! But the Lady Raiders' international adventure started off with a great breakfast with a lot of laughs and smiling faces. Next up was sightseeing of the city of Vancouver with the team and the many fans that not only came along to support us, but also to enjoy the experience. Learning about suspended buildings, the Winter Olympics , not to mention the amazing rainforest that we had the privilege to see, and the many types of salmon we learned about made the tour that much more interesting.

Going back to the hotel, we got some down time and some of the families came in to support us as we prepared for our game. Everyone was excited and ready to play against a team that consisted of former NCAA players, and players who play overseas also known as Vancouver Select. We came out strong with a lot of energy with fast breaks, many put backs, and we were able to score anywhere on the court.

Transfers Teena Wickett, and Casey Morris who are no longer known as transfer players, but now known as great additions to our team played well with big rebounding and fancy assists. Shauntal Nobles came back from injury and had a great first game helping on the boards. Kierra Mallard, like always, was big in the paint and on the boards. Freshman Antiesha Brown came in and knocked down a few points and with her speed and length locked it up on defense and then there was Mary Bokenkamp, she never fails to knock down shots at the right time, and also when it's needed.

With all the support from off the bench and in the crowd, we were able to stay strong and pull out our first win, and let me tell you it didn't come easy, but it was a well fought game and it came down to the wire, but with contributions from everyone the win felt that much better. On our way back to the hotel there was much laughter and full tummies from a great dinner. With our first win on our international trip we are eager to play and go back home with four wins, but we're still taking it one game at a time. Well, day two has come to an end, but we are all ready for tomorrow, which holds more sightseeing and game number two. We are ready to take Vancouver by storm, and not going down without a fight!

Thanks for your support, Lady Raider Nation!
