Day 3 - Vancouver, Canada
Aug. 11, 2010
Greetings from Vancouver, Canada!
We started the day by eating breakfast in the hotel and then had our choice to either attend the Vancouver Aquarium or go on a 230-foot suspension bridge, the Capilano Suspension Bridge. I, being the adrenaline seeking type, chose to walk on the shaky, seemingly unstable suspension bridge. Again, the scenery was breath-taking! Those who went to the aquarium said it was awesome and said that it had a dolphin show! So, either seemed to be a wonderful choice!
When we got back to the hotel, we again had the afternoon free to do what we wanted and of course, I chose to shop at the historic Gastown for gifts and souvenirs.
Then it was game time. Our second game was against the University of British Columbia. We had a five-point lead at the half and then came out stronger, especially on the defensive end, the second half. We ended up winning by 36 points. Our top two scorers were two players who sat out last season due to transferring, Casey Morris and Teena Wickett. Both scored 14 points.
So far we've had a wonderful experience and look forward to another game tomorrow against The University of the Fraser Valley. Tomorrow is our last full day in Vancouver before we head to Whistler on Thursday.
