LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's basketball team has announced its 2008-09 schedule, which includes 20 home games and 12 road contests.

The Lady Raiders will start the season with two exhibition games - Sun., Nov. 2, against Melbourne Roos and Sun., Nov. 9, versus the Houston Jaguars.

Tech tips-off the season by hosting four-straight games starting off with Idaho on Fri., Nov. 14, and Washington State on Sun., Nov. 16. Lamar and Texas-Arlington will then come to Lubbock on Fri., Nov. 21, and Sun., Nov. 23, respectively.

The first road trip is to the Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands Nov. 27-29. Tech plays Iowa on Thurs., Nov. 27, California on Fri., Nov. 28, and South Florida on Sat., Nov. 29.

The Lady Raiders return to Lubbock on Tues., Dec. 2, to face UNLV and then travel to Albuquerque, N.M., to face New Mexico on Sat., Dec. 13.

Then Tech will host four-straight non-conference games as Prairie View A&M (Thurs., Dec. 18), Sacramento State (Sat., Dec. 20), UCLA (Mon., Dec. 29) and Arkansas (Sat., Jan. 3) come to town. The last non-conference game will be on Mon., Feb. 2, as the Lady Raiders host Savannah State.

Big 12 Conference play begins Sat., Jan. 10, as the Lady Raiders host Texas. Other home contests include: Kansas State (Wed., Jan. 21), Baylor (Sat., Jan. 24), Oklahoma State (Sat., Jan. 31), Texas A&M (Wed., Feb. 11), Oklahoma (Tues., Feb. 17), Iowa State (Sat., Feb. 28) and Missouri (Sat., March 7).

Tech's conference road games will be at Texas A&M (Tues, Jan. 13), at Kansas (Sat., Jan. 17), at Colorado (Wed., Jan. 28), at Texas (Sun., Feb. 8), at Nebraska (Sat., Feb. 14), at Oklahoma State (Sat., Feb. 21), at Baylor (Wed., Feb. 25) and at Oklahoma (Wed., March 4).

Four of Tech's games this season will be doubleheaders with the men's basketball team. The two non-conference games include Idaho (Nov. 14) and Sacramento State (Dec. 20), while the two conference contests are Oklahoma State (Jan. 31) and Iowa State (Feb. 28).

The 2009 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship takes place Thurs.-Sun., March 12-15, at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Okla.
