Oct. 30, 2013
LUBBOCK, Texas -- Texas Tech athletics in conjunction with Red Raider Sports Properties, a division of Learfield Sports, released the final TV schedule on Wednesday for the Texas Tech women's basketball team.
The 2013-14 schedule features two national network games on FOX Sports Net along with six, third-tier games on Texas Tech TV and FOX Sports.
The Lady Raiders also released the official game times that include an earlier tip-off time of 6:30 p.m., for five of the home games not televised - including Monday night's exhibition against Angelo State - in an effort to help fans get home at a more convenient time.
"We made the decision to have some games tip-off at an earlier time with our fans and their families in mind," Texas Tech head coach Candi Whitaker said. "It will be especially beneficial for our midweek games and helping fans get home at an earlier time. We want all our fans of all ages to have a chance to see some great Lady Raider basketball games this season."
Tech tips off the regular season on FOX Sports Southwest with its first Texas Tech TV broadcast at 4 p.m., on Nov. 10 against Texas-Pan American. The rest of the Texas Tech TV home games include Arkansas Pine-Bluff (Dec. 4), TCU (Jan. 5), Kansas State (Jan. 14), Iowa State (Jan. 25) and Kansas (Feb. 1).
The Lady Raiders will be featured on two national FSN broadcasts against TCU in Fort Worth (Feb. 8) and at home vs. Oklahoma State (Feb. 22). Other away broadcasts include Texas (Longhorn Network, Feb. 5) and Oklahoma (FOX College Sports, March 3).
The games will feature a new broadcast crew with long-time play-by-play man Robert Giovanetti on the call alongside Andy Penney and Courtney Davis courtside.
