DALLAS - Texas Tech's Katrisa O'Neal was named Big 12 Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week and Kansas State's Nicole Ohlde was selected Big 12 Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week in a vote of media representatives for games played through Nov. 26.
O'Neal averaged 17 points and three rebounds last week while leading the Lady Raiders to Top 25 wins over No. 8 Penn State and No. 16 Southwest Missouri State as Tech won the Paradise Jam Tournament in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
The 5-6 senior guard from Plainview, Texas, scored a career-high 24 points in the win over Penn State. The following night she scored 15 points in the victory over Southwest Missouri State and also recorded double figure scoring in Tech's first win of the year over Texas-Arlington. In addition to her scoring, O'Neal's stellar defensive play was a major factor in Tech's three wins last week. O'Neal was named to the Paradise Jam All-Tournament Team.
Ohlde is Kansas State's leading scorer and rebounder with 19.3 points and 9.3 rebounds. The Wildcats are currently 3-1 with the lone loss in overtime to Wyoming.

Ohlde tied the classic's record for most rebounds (25) in a tournament. Her 36 points vs. Wyoming are two shy of the school record and set the school record for most points scored in a game by a freshman. Her 17 field goals are second all-time in school history and the most since 1995. Ohlde's 19 rebounds are one shy of the school record and tie for most by a freshman. She also tied the school record for highest field goal percentage in a half when she went 7-of-7 in the first half.
