Red Raiders Give Back|
Nov. 29, 2012
LUBBOCK, Texas — Texas Tech Athletics is once again teaming up with Tech students to provide tickets for underprivileged kids to attend men's and women's basketball games over the Christmas break. Texas Tech students pay an athletic fee each semester and swipe their ID for admission at athletic events. Traditionally, student attendance declines over the Christmas break as students head home for the holidays. Tech Athletics is giving the students an opportunity to "donate" a ticket to those games simply by electing to do so online.
To donate tickets, students must login to their raiderlink account at https://www.raiderlink.ttu.edu, click on the TTU MyTech tab, and look for "Red and Black Give Back". Select the games you wish to donate and the Athletics department will make sure to make the tickets available for underprivileged kids in Lubbock and the surrounding communities (up to 500 per game). Games available over the student break include Dec. 19 MBB vs. Alabama, Dec. 28 MBB vs. North Carolina A&T, Dec. 31 MBB vs. Florida A&M, Jan. 5 WBB vs. Iowa State, Jan. 8 MBB vs. Baylor, Jan. 9 WBB vs. Kansas State, and Jan. 12 MBB vs. Kansas.
Youth groups and non-profit organizations who are interested in receiving these tickets over the break should contact Garrett Tressler, Assistant Marketing Director for Texas Tech Athletics, at 742-1195 or email@example.com to get on the list.
