Texas Tech Takes on Houston in Non-Conference Finale

LUBBOCK, Texas -- Texas Tech hosts Houston for the 50th meeting overall between the two schools and fifth meeting in the Kristy Curry era. The Lady Raiders are 3-1 in the last four meetings and 35-14 overall.
The Lady Raiders return home for their non-conference finale before starting Big 12 Conference play on Wed., at No. 14/13 Oklahoma State (10-0).
Tech (9-2) split the two games at the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic Dec. 20-21. The Lady Raiders dropped a heartbreaker in overtime to Michigan State, 50-48, before dominating Oregon State the following day, 66-48.
Tech is 46-5 in non-conference play in the last four seasons.
The game against Houston holds some significance when it comes to the Lady Raiders and non-conference play. The last time these two teams met in Lubbock during the regular season was on Dec. 4, 2007 with Houston taking a 66-63 win. Since then, Tech has won 47 consecutive non-conference games at home.
Houston (5-6) comes into Sunday's game having won five of its last seven games, already surpassing its total of three wins in 2011-12.
Senior point guard Porsche Landry leads the Cougars in points per game (16.5), assists (39) and is second on the team with 22 steals. She is the only player in Houston women's basketball history with at least 1,200 points and 375 assists.

Morris enters Sunday's game with 975 career points and looking to become the next Lady Raider to join the 1,000-point club. She leads the Lady Raiders in points per game this season with 12.3 points per game and scored 13 in her last game against Oregon State.
