The Texas Tech golf programs are accepting registration for their summer camp which will be held June 23-26 at the Rawls Course.
Assistant coach Matt Whall enters his second season with the Lady Raiders. Whall was named the new women's golf assistant coach at Texas Tech on August 13, 2014, after spending 11 years as a teaching professional in the United Kingdom.
Whall’s impact on the Lady Raider team was felt immediately as Texas Tech recorded its best finish in program history. The Lady Raiders made their second all-time appearance in the NCAA Championships during the 2014-15 season and used a strong final round to advance past the stroke play portion of the tournament. Texas Tech was among the eight teams to advance to match play where the Lady Raiders capped their historic season in a tie for fifth place nationally after narrowly falling to Duke.
Whall has spent most of the last decade as a teacher, but also was recently part of the England Golf coaching staff for the Under-16 Regional Girls squad. He has a PGA Advanced Professional certification and is also a Trackman Level 2 certified instructor and club fitter for many of the sport’s top brands.Whall spent time on the England mini professional tour after a successful career as an amateur that led to him turning pro at age 18. He graduated from the University of Loughborough in the United Kingdom and spent time learning much of the coaching and teaching aspects of the game from mentor and former Palmer Cup coach for England, David Ridley
