RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico -- Texas Tech sophomore Kimmy Hill birdied three times en route to a 2-over par 74 to lead the Lady Raiders on day one of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic at Rio Mar Country Club and Resort.

Tech is in 13th place with a 20-over 308 total in the first round - just four shots out of being in the top 10.

Hill started off the day with a birdie on the par-4 12th hole and would birdie two more times to get back to even par but suffered bogeys on two of her last three holes coming in.

Elin Arvidsson, playing as the team's No. 1 player this week, bogeyed her first hole before rattling off four straight birdies to get to 3-under par. She was one of only seven players in the 81-person field to birdie the 177-yard, par-3 10th. But Arvidsson would also suffer three bogeys and a triple bogey on No. 3.

Stephanie Bertelsen carded a 6-over 78 and Hannah Arnold added an 8-over 80 for the final two scores counting. Redshirt freshman Victoria Uresti posted two birdies on her way to an 89.

Tech will tee off the second of three rounds beginning at 8 a.m. local time on Monday.
