LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech women's golf carded its lowest round of the tournament with a 13-over par 301 to wrap up the Lady Puerto Rico Classic Tuesday in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. The Red Raiders concluded the three-day event held at the Cocoa Beach Resort with a plus-52 913 to finish in 14th place in a field loaded with top 50 teams.

After extensive jostling in the standings over the last two days, No. 16 Alabama ended up taking home the team title by carding a plus-16 880. No. 27 LSU was second, while No. 17 Kent State and No. 30 TCU tied for third. No. 6 Arkansas and No. 11 Purdue rounded out the top teams. No. 34 Oklahoma was the top Big 12 finisher with an 11th-place tie, while No. 40 Iowa State came in 17th.

Struggling through their lowest round of the tournament Monday, the Red Raiders put it behind them and rebounded in a big way Tuesday. Freshman Robyn Scott fired a career-low 72 to lead Tech, while Megan Dowdy and Stephanie Smith both added three-over 75s for the day to help lead the way.

Competing in just her second collegiate event, Scott was Tech's top finisher with rounds of 73-82-72 for a plus-11 227. She was the Red Raiders' top finisher at 41st overall. Dowdy, 76-77-75, and Smith, 75-78-75, each finished the event with plus-12 228 scores to come in tied for 44th overall. Ulrika Van Niekerk, 235, and Gloriana Soto, 245, capped off Tech's scoring.

The Red Raiders will return to action March 7-8 when they travel to Rio Verde, Ariz. for the Rio Verde Invitational.
