Texas Tech Women's Golf Finishes 4th at Rio Verde

Rio Verde, Ariz. - The Texas Tech women's golf team turned in a 4th place finish at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational at Rio Verde, Ariz. The Lady Raiders were led by redshirt freshman Megan Dowdy who earned her first top 10 finish of her career highlighted by her second round shot for par. Dowdy finished with a three-round total of 225 at the event, placing her in a tie for 7th place. Senior Ashley Slavich finished in a tie for 18th place, only five strokes behind Dowdy with a tournament score of 230. Close behind was Urika van Niekerk with a three-round total of 234 finishing in a tie for 33rd place. Freshman Gloriana Soto and junior Marla Troester, each finished in a tie for 38th place with identical tournament scores of 236, while senior Hazel Tan was only two shots back in a tie for 49th place with a three-round total of 238.
