LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech fired a second-round 286, the second-lowest round of the day, to move into sole possession of third place at the UNLV Spring Rebel Invitational at Boulder Creek Golf Course in Boulder City, Nevada. The Lady Raiders entered today's second round in a fourth-place tie and narrowly trail tournament leader Washington State by four strokes.

Texas Tech has a two-round 578 and is 2-over for the tournament, trailing only Washington State (574) and No. 35 BYU (575). San Francisco (579) and Oregon (581) are fourth and fifth, respectively.

The Lady Raiders got solid and consistent play from its four top scorers as three players carded rounds of 1-under 71s and another a 1-over 73. Ulrika Van Niekerk is three shots off the lead in a third-place tie and is 3-under for the event with a 141, while Stephanie Smith's 1-under round today has her in a 10th-place tie. Gloriana Soto sits tied in 40th place after posting the third 1-under round and Alex Gibson is tied in 34th place and was 1-over. Rosalyn Kim, competing as an individual is tied in 21st place with a two-round 146, including Tuesday's 71. Megan Dowdy struggled with an 83 and is tied in 76th place.

Oregon's Cathryn Bristow and Idaho's Kelly Nakashima are tied atop the leaderboard with two-round totals of 138 each.

Tournament-host UNLV (586) is in sixth place, followed by Campbell (590), No. 46 Washington (590), Idaho (590) and UC Davis (590) all tied in seventh place. No. 45 Indiana (594) and Fresno State (594) are tied in11th place, while Colorado State (598), Sacramento State (600), New Mexico State (607), Kansas State (612), Long Beach State (630) and Eastern Washington (637) are 13th through 18th.
