LUBBOCK, Texas - Due to rain and cold weather yesterday, the Texas Tech women's golf team completed its remaining 10 holes of the scheduled 36 from round one earlier today at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas. The Red Raiders struggled in the first round shooting a 663 (336, 327) to place 12th, a long way from catching No. 2 Duke who is in the lead after shooting a 616 (297, 319).

Junior Stephanie Dukes and senior Jennifer Newhouse finished in the top 50 with Dukes leading the Red Raiders tied in 30th place after shooting identical rounds of 82 for a round one total of 164. Newhouse shot a 23-over-par 165 (84, 81) in tying for 41st while sophomore Jackie Ey finished one spot shy of the top 50 after shooting a 25-over-par 167 (85, 82).

Freshmen Megan Hull shot a 171 (89,82) to sit in a three-way tie for 65th and teammate Kim Kolb tied for 68th after shooting a 30-over-par 172 (85,87).

Results for the second round will be available when Tech wraps up the final round of play on the Barton Creek Palmer-Lakeside Course in Austin, Texas, later today.
