LUBBOCK, Texas - Gabby Dominguez finished just shy of the third medalist honor of her career Tuesday as the senior led No. 19 Texas Tech to a third-place showing at the Marsh Landing Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Lady Raiders totaled a 1-over-par 289 final round to finish with a 5-over 869 score that was four strokes back of second-place Iowa State and 12 behind tournament champion Purdue. It was the sixth time in nine tournaments this year where Tech has finished among the top-three teams.

"This was a good week for our team," Tech head coach JoJo Robertson said. "The team played well and it was nice to see low rounds from everyone. I really liked the way we looked out there and I think it prepared us for the rest of the season."

After taking a three-stroke lead after two rounds Monday, Dominguez came close to hanging on for medalist honors after a 1-over 73 final round. Purdue's Paula Rato fired a 2-under card, though, to force a playoff where she narrowly edged Dominguez for the individual title.

It marked the second-straight impressive turnout for Dominguez, who recorded a second-place finish over a week ago at the Challenge at Onion Creek.

She was one of four Lady Raiders among the top-15 individuals as Kim Kaufman, Elin Arvidsson and Kimmy Hill all finished tied for 11th overall at 3-over for the tournament. Kaufman led the group with a 1-under final round while Arvidsson and Hill fired even-par and 1-over cards.

Hannah Arnold completed Tech's lineup with a 3-over final round that left the junior 10-over for the tournament and in a tie for 43rd overall.

The tournament was the final event for the Lady Raiders prior to the Big 12 Championships, April 19-21, in Rhodes, Iowa. Tech will look for its first-ever Big 12 title when the 54-hole event begins at The Harvester Country Club.
