MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Texas Tech women's golf team wrapped up its spring season shooting a 54-hole score of 953 (318, 308, 327) to drop one spot to eighth place at the Big 12 Women's Golf Championships in Manhattan, Kan., earlier today. The Red Raiders had maintained a place at seventh in the first and second rounds of the tourney but were unable to hold on or move up the boards.

Jennifer Newhouse finished in a tie for 18th with a 19-over-par 235 (76, 79, 80) and played in her last game as a Red Raider. The 5-foot-6 senior made the top-20 five times this season, completing her career at Tech with 15 overall. Freshmen Kim Kolb shot a 23-over-par 239 (81, 77, 81) to finish in 34th place while teammates Megan Hull and Jackie Ey each shot a three-round total of 242 to tie for 36th. Junior Stephanie Dukes struggled in the final round of play after shooting an 87 for a 54-hole score of 245 (79, 79) and dropping to a three-way tie for 43rd.

Oklahoma State University (909) took the team and individual honors, winning the team championship for the third consecutive year. Oklahoma trailed three strokes behind to take second place while No. 5 Texas finished in third (921). Baylor (926) took fourth place and Iowa State (942) rounded out the top five teams.

The Red Raiders will swing back into action with five of the six players returning next fall.
